"Taking Care After 50" is an excellent self care guide for seniors written by Dr. Harvey Cohen, Professor of Medicine and Director for the Study of Aging and Human Development at Duke University. Topics include major health concerns such as Alzheimer’s, Diabetes, Osteoporosis and Parkinson’s Disease. Another section includes common health problems such as back and neck problems, hair loss, indigestion and heartburn, sleep problems and varicose veins. There are sections just for women and those just for men.
"What To Do For Senior Health" is an easy to read, easy to use reference book that discusses where to get health care, how to choose a doctor, health insurance for seniors, what you can do to stay healthy and active and the changes that come with aging. The book is in large type and uses every day words.
"With Faces to the Evening Sun" recognizes the trauma to the human spirit that often results from moving into a nursing home. As the book sensitively portrays the daily thoughts, feelings, and actions of nursing home residents, it does so to the unrelenting rhythm of God’s loving presence. The book contains scripture readings, devotions, and prayers that will resonate with each caregiver, care receiver and family member as they face together the adventures and challenges of a rich new phase of life.
